Both John, Margaret and several others in our work family come from farming backgrounds. Amongst our qualified engineers are three apprentices in various stages of training and one high school student who comes after school to clean and learn about our trade.
Newman Engineering has been based in Dargaville for over 20 years. Owners Margaret & John Bishop are proud to have amongst their qualified staff, apprentices at various stages of their training.
John Bishop is a New Zealander by birth, Margaret a New Zealander by choice. Margaret having moved to NZ from Canada over thirty years ago to farm Shorthorn beef cattle and Romney Sheep on the Pouto Peninsula (about a 1 hour drive from Dargaville). At that time John was also a dry stock farmer, with a passion for engineering. John went to Canada and did his Engineering training in Alberta as an adult apprentice.
John and Margaret are passionate about people and are active in the community, Margaret is a Rotarian while John is a member of the Kaipara Vintage Machinery Club and both are members of the local museum and the Methodist Church.
Dairy Farmer, wife and mother of three teenagers, office administrator Tracey is a rare gem and is highly valued for the contributions she makes to our work family. Each member of our team bring to our work place their unique talents, personalities and skills which enable us to be the vibrant company we are today.
